Bereavement Support Groups

Meet others who’ve lost a loved one and share your experience in our bereavement support groups.

Our support groups give you the opportunity to meet others who are grieving the death of a loved one, share experiences, and explore ways to move through your grief – all in a caring and understanding atmosphere.

Support groups run all year round across Halton and may focus on a particular type of loss (spousal loss, loss of an adult child).

These groups are offered free of charge through the generosity of our volunteers, funders and donors.

Supporting the Loss of a Parent or Guardian

This bereavement support group will run for seven weeks and explore the terrain of loss of a parent or guardian through mindfulness and storytelling.

This small online community will offer you companionship on your journey with grief and explore loss by engaging with art, music, and the practice of being present. Please register today as spaces are limited.

Virtual Drop-in Support Group

For those grieving the death of a loved one.

Join us in this virtual support group and find comfort and support in a caring and understanding atmosphere.

Registration is open, and you can join at any time during the session.

Mixed Loss Virtual Support Group

This group is open to those who have experienced the death of a loved one. A safe and supportive space to talk about your experience, learn more about the grieving process and gain support from others.

Young Adult Grief Chat
Virtual Support Group

A monthly drop-in support group for people under the age of 40 for those who have experienced the death of a loved one.

2nd and 4th Monday of the Month, 6:30 – 8 p.m.


Spousal / Partner Loss Support Group

The loss of a husband, wife or partner can be devastating.  Join others who are living with loss to share experiences and heal.
Groups run in 8 week sessions throughout Halton in the fall, winter and spring.

Bereavement Walking Group

A free walking group for adults grieving the death of a loved one.

Join trained volunteers for fresh air and exercise with others who are grieving. Share your experiences, receive support – or simply just walk with others who understand.

Adult Child Loss Support Group

It is particularly difficult to lose an adult child.  Join other parents who have experienced this loss to share experiences and heal.

2SLGBTQIA+ Grief Virtual Support Group

Losing a loved one is never easy, and navigating grief as a 2SLGBTQIA+ person can bring unique challenges. This support group provides a safe, affirming space to share your experiences, process emotions, and find comfort among others who understand.

Together, we’ll create a compassionate community where all identities and relationships are honored. Whether you’ve lost a partner, friend, family member, or community member, you don’t have to go through this alone.
